About Course

The Computer Literacy and Online Safety course introduces Reception learners to basic digital devices and simple technology concepts in a safe and supervised environment. Children learn to recognize common digital tools, use basic controls, and understand simple rules for staying safe online. The course builds early confidence with technology while promoting responsible and safe digital behaviour.
Key Focus Areas
Recognizing digital devices (computer, tablet, phone)
Identifying basic parts of a computer (screen, mouse, keyboard)
Using simple educational apps and programs
Learning basic device care and handling
Understanding simple online safety rules
Knowing to ask a trusted adult for help

  • WEEK 6: Basic Online Safety (Stranger Danger Online)

  • WEEK 9: Digital Creativity (Drawing & Shapes)
  • WEEK 10: Revision & Confidence Week

SPRING TERM
Focus: Confidence with devices, basic digital skills, safety awareness, creativity

SUMMER TERM
Focus: Confidence, independence, creativity, basic problem-solving, preparation for Year 1
