About Course
The Mathematics course in Year 1 develops pupils’ understanding of numbers, shapes, measurements, and basic mathematical reasoning. Building on Reception foundations, children explore addition, subtraction, and simple problem-solving, while developing confidence with numbers in everyday contexts. The course encourages curiosity, logical thinking, and practical application of mathematical skills through interactive and hands-on activities.
