About Course
The English Language and Literacy course in Year 5 develops pupils’ ability to read widely, write effectively, and communicate ideas with increasing precision and confidence. Pupils engage with a broad range of texts, deepen comprehension and analytical skills, and produce well-structured written work for varied purposes and audiences. The course strengthens grammar, vocabulary, and spelling while encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and articulate expression.
