About Course
The Mathematics course in Year 6 consolidates pupils’ mathematical knowledge while developing accuracy, confidence, and deep reasoning skills. Pupils apply advanced strategies to solve complex and multi-step problems, explain their thinking clearly, and make connections across mathematical concepts. The course prepares learners for secondary-level mathematics through mastery, independence, and real-world application.

Secure understanding of place value across large numbers and decimals
Fluent use of the four operations, including long multiplication and long division
Fractions, decimals, and percentages, including conversion and problem-solving
Ratio and proportion
Algebraic thinking: simple formulas, expressions, and equations

Geometry: properties of shapes, angles, coordinates, and transformations
