About Course

The English Language and Literacy course in Year 3 develops pupils’ ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Pupils read a wider range of texts with improved fluency and comprehension, write structured paragraphs for different purposes, and use grammar and vocabulary more accurately. The course encourages critical thinking, creativity, and confidence in both written and spoken communication.

  • 6. Conjunctions (and, but, because, so)
  • 7. Paragraphing (topic sentences)
  • 8. Punctuation (., ?, !)
  • 9. Comprehension (literal retrieval)
  • 10. End-of-term assessment

SPRING TERM
Focus: Vocabulary & Extended Writing
