About Course
The English Literature course in Year 8 introduces pupils to more challenging and diverse texts, including novels, poetry, short stories, and plays from different time periods and cultures. Pupils develop analytical and interpretative skills, exploring themes, characterisation, language, and structure. The course fosters a deeper appreciation of literature, encouraging pupils to express personal responses and build critical thinking skills in preparation for GCSE study.
